Mary Gerbic, a M.A. candidate in Cultural Resource Management at Sonoma State University and a graduate of the Cabrillo College Archaeology Technology Program discussed her research in northern California. Taking a landscape approach for locating and confirming the presence of a trail across the Mayacmas Mountains from Clear Lake to the Russian River in Mendocino County provides an historical context, while also addressing its prehistoric origin, and its appropriation by settlers before fading into obscurity.
